Desert Queen Hi everyone, as requested, for my first review I’ll be doing Desert Queen, an Indian Blended Whisky.
Price: $23.90 (CAD) at the LCBO
Region: India
Abv: 42.5%
Colour: Goldenrod
Nose: A ton of Vanilla, apples, teak smoke
Taste: Cardamom, light teak smoke, vanilla, apples, citrus, peanuts, pepper
Finish: Cardamom, cinnamon, apples, teak smoke
Overall this is a slightly weak blend. It’s different than other blends I’ve had. I’m assuming that they used Teak, however I wasn’t able to find anything online. It reminds me of Arrack, which I love after one of my co-workers brought me back some right from Sri Lanka. If you like Arrack, you may enjoy this. Overall I probably wouldn’t pick it up again, however I would consider a single malt they made that’s a little older (it’s made up of 8 year old whiskies).
72/100
