Dun Bheagan 8 Single Malt Limited Edition 2002 whisky is a very long named Scotch I found at a local LCBO. I do like Islay, and at 50$ (CAD), this seemed like a good deal. From what I’ve been able to learn is this is the youngest of their Single Malts. It’s made by Ian Macleod Distillers. They are an independent bottler who release scotches from all of the regions, with each being labeled with a cask number and the amount of bottles.
Price: $49.99 (CAD) (In Ontario)
Cask #: 701912/701926
Region: Islay
Abv: 43%
Color: Burnt Orange
Nose: Vanilla, orange zest, straw, a hint of cassia buds, smoke
Taste: Smokiness blasts your tastes buds then gives way to brininess, apricot, and pepper,
Finish: Apples, hint of almonds, dark cocoa, all disappearing into smoke and peat.
Conclusion: Overall I enjoy this scotch, however the smoke can be a little out…
