Bruichladdich the Classic Laddie Scottish Barley
So Bruichladdich has brought out a metric shit ton (which is greater than your normal American tonne) of different whiskies. That’s not the total weight of all the whisky either: That’s the total weight of just the names.
And recently we heard about Bruichladdich ending the much beloved Bruichladdich Laddie 10, and replacing it with Bruichladdich the Classic Laddie Scottish Barley. Which at first, I’ll admit, sounded like a little rough.
It was NAS, it played on the marketing cliche of “nationalistic pride”, and… well, a large company took over Bruichladdich.
That said, it is higher Abv. And they do brag about something called “slow trickle distillation”, and “premium American Oak”. I’m going to assume those last two things are the same as before.
However it’s not fair to judge a whisky based on the past. So let’s see how this new whisky…
