Over the year or so that I’ve been actually drinking anCnoc, it’s slowly gone from that funny distillery with odd pronunciation to yet another Highland that proves I’m not a fan of Highlands and finally to an interesting distillery.
So far they’ve brought in artists to designate two different special editions, peated their own malt, and have a mixture of NAS Vintages and aged stated malts.
From what I can understand from the very white webpage is this: The anCnoc 18 replaced the old anCnoc 16. Which I’m sure has a lot of people excited. Much like when Laphroaig went from 15 to 18, and less so when they went back.
As well they’ve left the alcohol level at a gentlemanly level of “not the fucking minimum”. They also didn’t chill-filter is at all, didn’t colour it, and aged it in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon…
