Thanks firstname.lastname@example.org sharing a dram of this with me.
Yellowstone Selectis the flagship whiskey from Limestone Branch Distillery, a distillery established in Lebanon, Kentucky by Steve and Paul Beam. The distillery comes from the brothers who can link their families back to major Kentucky distillers, as you may have guessed based on their names.
So we have two brothers who note they are seventh-generation bourbon distillers. That’s nice and all, and it sure helps marketing, but you’re here to see if the bourbon was good or bad.
So let’s see how this tastes, shall we?
Price:N/A at the LCBO
Nose:Sugar syrup, oak, sweet corn, grass
Immediately quite sweet with oak. More time gives corn/grassy notes. It’s changing things up a bit from other bourbons, with some of the grassy notes and some of that more raw sugar.
