Toronto Whisky Society member visits Dixon’s Distillery 1 year anniversary

Wasn’t even aware of Dixon’s Distilled Spirits till I saw a sign on the Hanlon in Guelph the other day, then when I checked out their website, I saw they were having a 1yr anniversary event that day and decided to check it out.

Here are some pictures from their 1 year anniversary event!

Jeremie is the head distiller and Miranda is the youngest female distiller in Canada for sure, probably the world! They source all of their grains locally and make vodka, gin, moonshines, liqueurs and some non-alcoholic products as well like maple syrup and BBQ sauces.

They’ve made some decent moonshine, and I particularly liked their Oatshine. The Batch 3 whisky is very lightly aged, and didn’t particularly stand out from the pack, but their spirit has potential and will taste great after a few years of aging. We really liked their gin and we picked up a few of their premixed gin drinks.

If you’re in the Guelph area, be sure to check out this new distillery! Jeremie and team will be answering some questions soon in an AMA on /r/Canadawhisky soon!
