Summer Cocktail Social

TWS kicked off the warmer weather with our first Whisky Summer Social. Members were greeted with a “Wise-ball”, a refreshing Highball made with Wiser’s 10, soda water and a slice of lemon.

Throughout the afternoon three other specialty cocktails were served all featuring whisky along with a broad selection of bitters. Thanks to donations by Corby and some pre-planning, the event was free for members along with name tags and great rooftop views.

The second libation of the afternoon was a tart Chivas Sour made with Italian lemon juice. Bright, flavourful and warmed with the familiar flavours of many of our parents liquor cabinets.

Drink number three was a tariff-free “Toronto” – a Canadian take on a Manhattan made with Lot 40 Dark Oak, Lillet Rose and sour cherry bitters. Citrusy, spicy with a hint of smoke.

The final drink of the day was a drink that you could not refuse – the Peatfather. A careful blend of Dunbheahan Islay whisky with McGuiness Amaretto. Smoky, sweet and downright delicious. A guilty pleasure to celebrate the summer solstice.

Thanks to Scott and Jen for leading this one!
