Kilchoman Tasting with Noble Estates

We teamed up with Kilchoman and Noble Estates, a distillery we hadn’t yet featured in any events before, and had a great line-up of whiskies. These were presented by James Wills, son of the founder of of Kilchoman, and he shared amazing and hilarious stories and anecdotes of his experience working with his family to found, run and grow the distillery into the well respected business it is today.

The line-up was all OBs, plus an extra bottle Will from Noble Estates poured for us:

The standard single malt. NAS. Non-chill filtered and no colour added, as with all their bottles.
Sherry matured – a cask strength version is coming!
Barley in this 14th release of 100% Islay is grown on their own farm on Islay.
Fully matured in Fino, dry and less fruity/sweet than the Sanaig or PX.
Very different and the cognac overpowers the spirit a little, but very tasty.
A unique Glenrothes at cask strength, finished in an oloroso octave. only 90 bottles available direct from Noble Estates!

Unfortunately didn’t get a picture of the laptop set up on a stool so everyone could hear and see James on Zoom, but we had a great crowd, good food, fantastic whisky and look forward to our next event in a couple months!
