We brought back an old favourite theme for 2024 – Oddballs! Devon picks out some weird/unique/unusual bottlings and we drink them blind and try to guess what they are. This year had some really interesting ones, which are listed in order that we tasted them (and for those who couldn’t come in person and got samples, this is the order 1-5, avoid if you don’t want spoilers):

4yr old Indian whisky that had a lot more depth than expected. delicious palate opener!

American single malt, aged half in virgin garryana oak casks. a unique and funky US malt.

A well aged, standard peated Caol Ila aged in Tuscan Sassicaia casks! We thought some might guess this one, but it stumped everyone still!

The crowd favourite, this 17yr Inchfad (peated Loch Lomond) was fantastic and aged in Merlot casks.

Talisker can no longer claim to be the only malt from Skye, just the oldest! This young, cask strength heavily peated Torabhaig was a great finish to the lineup!
We also had the pleasure of enjoying some Micil and cask samples another member brought back from Ireland recently, and everyone got their newly arrived JD Rye bottles!
