Macallan Sherry Cask Strength

While in Newfoundland on vacation, I finally had a chance to try Macallan Sherry Cask Strength. This is the first Cask Strength whiskey I’ve tried, and I am smitten. I decided to purchase some Newfoundland specific wines instead of buying a bottle while there, thinking I’d be able to buy this either in Ontario or (next year) in Scotland. It was then that I was… Continue reading Macallan Sherry Cask Strength

Canadian Club Sherry Cask 8

Here’s my 5th review, Canadian Club Sherry Cask 8 year, Batch No: SC-020. While I am Canadian, I normally don’t drink much rye unless it has been mixed into a Manhattan. However a few weeks ago there was quite a few Canadian whiskies reviewed, and I thought I’d review one that my Uncle gave me (he didn’t like it, so I ended up with it).… Continue reading Canadian Club Sherry Cask 8

Canada makes some amazing malts, and one of the earliest to make them was @okanaganspirits . They've got some fun expressions in this lineup including a cask strength, port cask and rum cask.
The @kinahanswhiskey KASC project is a pretty interesting Irish single malt. It's aged in a barrel made from a variety of staves: American, French, Portuguese and Hungarian oak and Chestnut, which is a new one! It's also bottled at 45% which is more substantial than many Irish whiskeys. I've seen this brand go on clearance at the @lcbo occasionally, but at $80 this is a decent dessert dram with a fun story.
Where do you go to find your pre-shut down @glendronach ? @whiskytanuki found this one in Japan.
Light body, lightly peated, right from the distillery. Tastes like Friday night.
After watching the game last night, it called for a pour of something enjoyable.
Wish we could carry this old @springbank1828 around like an old jug of moonshine! Ask @whiskytanuki how it was!
