For some of you reading old Benrinnes reviews from myself on reddit or on my webpage, you’ll be wondering why I take a silly approach and talk poorly about them.

You see, that was a joke brought up awhile ago. Around Reddit, not many people knew about Benrinnes. Or how good an ex-sherry Benrinnes could be. As such, when one of the top reviewers discovered a good one, they posted their reviews online in a quiet manner around the holiday season to ensure no one else found out about it.

Unfortunately I checked it constantly, noticed a good review, and bought a bottle. And then more samples. And then reviewed like everything. Also I told some other people.

Thus when I heard that Benrinnes SMWS 36.122 “A dark jungle of flavour” came out, I immediately jumped at it. Cask strength, first fill sherry. Yeah, I’m not a huge Oloroso fan…
